Biography
Sei (Sage) Jung[1] is an interdisciplinary researcher based in United States and Korea, currently pursuing a PhD in Interdisciplinary Design and Media at Northeastern University (MA, US). Her research explores the societal implications of autonomous systems and computational processes through practice-based methods. By visualizing and reinterpreting artifacts, Sei (Sage) examines how individuals perceive and engage with technological objects and the issues that emerge from these interactions.
Her current PhD research revolves around the ontology and sociopolitical implications of non-human form robots and their forms. Through her academic writing and creative work, she aims to continue the critical discourse surrounding the social implications of visual culture and technology. Her background includes art theories, independent curatorial projects, and graphic design.
Sei (Sage) holds MS in Integrated Digital Media from New York University Tandon School of Engineering (NY, US) and BA in Art Studies (Art History and Theory) from Hongik University College of Fine Arts (Seoul, South Korea). She awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for her graduate education in 2020.
